The Ottawa Diamondbacks had a record setting afternoon on Sunday under the sunny skies at Kinsmen Field in Kanata versus the Braves. After Starter Brian Merkel held the Braves scoreless in the top of the first, Marcel Levac came to the plate to lead off for the Dbacks in the bottom of the first for what would become the most productive inning in Dback's history. When all was said and done, the Dbacks had sent 22 batters to the plate and pushed across 16 runs. With the score sitting at 16-2 going into the bottom of the fourth, the Diamondbacks plated another 6 runs on their way to a mercy rule win of 22-2.
Some notables from the first inning: Marc St. Hilaire went 3-3 with 5 RBI 8 of the 9 batters in the lineup scored 2 runs Paul O'Leary went 2-2 with a hit from each side of the plate Justin Cardinal pulled off the unthinkable and was responsible for all 3 outs in one inning (Sorry Justin, had to put that in there)
Other notes for the game: Ryan Chow - 2-3 RBI Levac - 3RBI O'Leary 3-4 2RBI Dave Steffler, Thomas Steffler, Christian Deschenes - 2RBI each St. Hilaire picks up POG honours for his 5 RBI and 3-3 first innning.
